PALAKKAD: The Palakkad Senior Citizens Forum is yet to get Central aid for the construction of an Old Age Home at Pirayiri near the town. The Forum had purchased 13.25 cents of land at Pirayiri for the construction of an old age home. Their application under the `Scheme of Assistance to Self-Help Groups for construction of Old Age Homes for Old Persons' was recommended by the State Government to the Centre for aid of Rs. 19.8 lakhs.
