TIRUPATI: The annual Brahmotsavam at the TTD-run Prasanna Venkateswara temple in Appalayagunta, 15 km from here, will be conducted from June 17 to 25, with the initiatory ritual `Ankurarpanam' on Thursday. The important days of the festival are Dwajarohanam (Jun 17), Hamsa vahanam (Jun 18), Simha vahanam (Jun 19), Garuda vahanam (Jun 21), Rathothsavam (Jun 24) and Chakrasnanam (Jun 25). Kalyanotsavam will be performed on Jun 24e, in which Grihasthas (married couples) will be allowed to take part on payment of Rs.300. Special cultural programmes such as Harikatha, bhajans, music concerts and Annamayya Sankirtans will be organised on the occasion by the Tirupati Tirumala Devastanam's propagation arms, Dharma Prachara Parishat and Annamacharya Project, a TTD release said.
