NAGOYA (JAPAN): DuPont is setting up its new automotive centre here to play a key role in system and application development for the automotive industry. The new facility is slated to become operational by October this year with a staff of about 60. Addressing a group of visiting newspersons from the Asia-Pacific region, the Senior Managing Director of DuPont Japan, Minoru Amoh, said as Japan was one of the leading countries in the world in technology innovation for automotive industries, it was crucial for DuPont to set up its automotive centre in that country to collaborate with its customers. The centre, he said, was being specially designed to leverage competency from different functions, including marketing, technical support, technology development and project management for system and application development across different business units. With the Global Marketing Manager of DuPont Japan, Harumichi Ishioka, as the Manager, the automotive centre will support multi-businesses, which offer high performance materials such as engineering polymers, packaging material, high modulus performance material, film, paint, electronic materials and fibre.
