CHENNAI: It will be a toss-up between Team MRF's Jussi Valimaki (Mitsubishi Evo 8) and Toshihiro Arai for the top honours in the Hella Rally of Rotorua to be held from June 17 to 19. Arai (Subaru) is quite familiar with the local terrain while Valimaki will use the pre-event recce to acclimatise with the conditions in his drive to make it a hat-trick of wins in the Asia Pacific Rally Championship. The Finn now leads the APRC table with 31 points, and is a favourite to clinch the title. His teammate, Katsuhiko Taguchi, has had a disappointing start to the season, as he failed to finish in both at Canberra and New Caledonia. Arai, who was excluded at the opening round of the championship in Canberra because of a technical infringement, would like to make amends during the weekend. Meanwhile Geoff Argyle, who is currently second at 20 points, would fancy his chances of excelling on home ground.
