Manav Das wrests lead

BANGALORE: Manav Das carded the lone sub par effort of 70 to wrest the lead on the second day of the KGA-South India open golf championship here on Wednesday. Das matched his first day's show (70) which put him ahead at 140 and the overnight leader, Manav Jaini slipped to the second spot with one over par 73 after a bad start.

Manav Das began and ended with a bogey, but came up with some solid putting in between with birdies on second, 15th and 17th holes. In the last two, he came up with two long range putts and ended the day with a clear two stroke lead over Manav Jaini.

The results (second round-Top 10): 1. Manav Das 140 (70 + 70); 2.Manav Jaini 142 (69 + 73); 3. Gagan Verma 145 (73 + 72); 4. Jasjeet Singh 146 (71 + 74); 5. Vikrant Chopra 146 (74 + 72); 6. Jaideep Patwardhan 149 (73 + 76); 7. Tarun Ghogale 149 (72 + 77); 8. Navtez Singh 149 (71 + 78); 9. Vikram Rana 150 (72 + 78); 10. Simarjeet Singh 151 (75 + 76). — Special Correspondent
