HM to supply components to more OEMs

NEW DELHI: Hindustan Motors on Wednesday said it was aiming to increase the sales of Ambassador cars by at least 50 per cent in the next three years to 18,000 units annually. The company also announced its plans to increase its component outsourcing business to Rs. 300 crore.

Talking to media persons after launching the 1.8L CNG Bharat Stage III Ambassador Grand model, priced at Rs. 4 lakh, the Executive Vice-President, Ashwani Dubey, said the company was in talks with Mitsubishi, Volkswagen, Peugeot and other foreign car manufacturers for increasing its component exports. The company's component business in last fiscal was about Rs. 200 crore, which included Rs. 150-170 crore for internal consumption.
