Congress blocking development: Sunita
Staff Reporter
CUDDAPAH:
The Telugu Desam Party MLA of Penukonda, Paritala Sunita, on Wednesday charged ruling Congress leaders with posing hurdles to thwart her attempts to ensure development of her constituency.
``Congressmen are merely viewing me as Paritala Ravindra's widow, but not showing any sympathy for being a woman," she alleged while speaking to newsmen on the Cuddapah Central Prison premises.
Accompanied by her father, Kondanna, she came in a convoy of four vehicles to the central prison amidst heavy security and called on 10 of the 58 partymen lodged in it.
The 58 TDP activists of Penukonda were remanded on cases foisted by the police for violence during the recent bypoll, Ms. Sunita alleged.
She vowed to stand by party activists and assist their families. The remanded partymen would soon be brought out on bail, she maintained.
Ms. Sunita said augmentation of drinking water supply to people would be her prime concern.
