Special package for comprehensive development of the district

MAHABUBNAGAR: The Home Minister, K. Jana Reddy, has said Rs 45 crores has been earmarked for constructing police residential quarters and taking up maintenance works in the existing police quarters this year. Speaking to mediapersons at Jedcharla on Tuesday, the Minister said their Government was paying attention to redressing the grievances of lower cadre police personnel.

Additional forces would be deployed in Mahabubnagar, Nalgonda, Prakasam and Guntur to combat the naxalite menace.

Mr. Jana Reddy said their Government was taking all necessary measures to help the families of those who became victims of left extremism.

The number of police stations would be increased in view of increased population in the State. Police personnel in rural areas should respond immediately to the petitions given by people, he said, adding that he had sent a circular to all the district to this effect.

Earlier, the Home Minister inaugurated a private school at Mayuri hills.

After laying the foundation stone for buildings for the mandal revenue and agricultural offices at Midjil mandal headquarters, the Home Minister said Rs 50 crores would be spent in the district to provide employment to labourers under the Rastriya Samvikas Yojana scheme.

He said the Government had sanctioned special package to the district for its comprehensive development and was undertaking construction of major irrigation projects.
