MANGALORE: The Directorate of Pre-University Education has given permission to the Saraswat Education Society, Mangalore to start Parijnan Pre-University Science College at its Anandashram High School campus premises, Someshwar Kotekar, near here. The society is setting up the college to commemorate the diamond jubilee year of the high school. Speaking to presspersons here on Tuesday, Kiran Panemangalore, Secretary of the society said the college would initially offer Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Biology (PCMB) courses to students. The college would offer Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Computer Science (PCMC) courses from the next academic year, once the construction of the college building in the same campus premises was complete. The society has appointed teaching, non-teaching and other staff apart from setting up a laboratory, said Mr. Panemangalore. The directorate has approved an intake of 90 students per batch, he added. The former Deputy Director, P.U Education, C. Mahadeva will inaugurate the college. The Deputy Director, P.U. Education, Mangalore, Sheelavathi K., senior writer and folk scholar Amruth Someshwar, the former President of Karnataka Tulu Sahitya Academy, Vaman Nandavar will be the chief guests.
