Domestic help held for theft

CHENNAI:
The Ashok Nagar police have arrested a 22-year-old woman Geeta of West Mambalam on the charge of stealing Rs.3.70 lakhs and jewellery weighing 30 sovereigns from a house where she was working as a maid.
A police release said she had been working as a domestic help at the house for the past one-and- half-years.
On Tuesday, she was caught while trying to steal the valuables and cash from a steel cupboard, when the inmates were away. Police said she was involved in similar crimes in the house earlier too. She was remanded to judicial custody.
