KOCHI: The Credit-Linked Capital Subsidy Scheme for small-scale industrial units has been extended to include coir units, which can now get up to 12 per cent subsidy for upgrading technology, said Anupam Dasgupta, Union Secretary, Small-Scale Industry and Agro and Rural Industries, here on Wednesday. He was speaking at a function organised here by the Coir Board to give away coir industry awards for 2003-04 and the Revi Karunakaran Memorial Best Workmen awards for 2004-05. Mr. Dasgupta said coir-industry exports had been valued at over Rs. 60 crores this year. He commended the industry, led by private players, in achieving this result.
