Water level

MADURAI: The level in the Periyar dam on Wednesday stood at 112.5 feet with an inflow of 172 cusecs and a discharge of 350 cusecs. The Vaigai dam level was 28.15 feet with a discharge of 41 cusecs. The Periyar combined credit stood at 1511 mcft.

Applications invited for awards

The Centre awards the best youth/women forums and individuals through Nehru Yuva Kendra for their contribution to rural development works. Applications from eligible candidates are invited. The forum should have registered under the Tamil Nadu Societies Act.

Grievance meet

The Superintending Engineer, Metro, Madurai, will conduct a consumer grievance day meeting at the Office of Executive Engineer, South Division, Tamil Nadu Electricity Board, on Thursday at 10.30 a.m.

Consumers of Subramaniapuram, Arappalayam, Ellis Nagar, Tamil Sangam, Temple, Mahalipatti, Mahal, Jhansi, can air their grievances either in person or through petitions at the meeting.

Training programme

The Madurai District Tiny and Small Scale Industries Association's (MADITSSIA) Business Information Centre (BIC) and Sub-Contracting Exchange will conduct an `Entrepreneurship training programme for the unemployed youths' at the MADITSSIA Hall on June 25.

The programme will focus on opportunities available in the Madurai district in self-employment, loan schemes, machinery details, investment, marketing and export procedures etc.

Free photography programme
