Yoga and aerobics

Lecture on traffic

The Karnataka State Centre of the Institute of Engineers will hold a lecture on "One-way Traffic System in Bangalore" at 5 p.m. on Thursday at the Institute of Engineers (India), Karnataka State Centre, 3, Ambedkar Veedhi, Bangalore. The Additional Commissioner of Police (Traffic), K.V.R Tagore, will speak.

Orientation seminar

The Parsam Institute for Excellence will conduct a one-day free orientation seminar in accounts, taxation and related administrative topics from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Thursday at the Parsam Institute for Excellence, No. 62/1, 1st Floor, Sapthagiri Complex, Subramanyapura Main Road, Chikalasandra. Padayatra

The Pourakarmika Sangha, a union of municipal sanitation workers, will take out a padayatra on Thursday from Nelamangala to Bangalore city and also launch an indefinite strike in protest against the withdrawal of pension to them.

Pension has been withdrawn for those pourakarmikas who retired after October 1, 2004. The pourakarmikas are also demanding that disparities in wages and service conditions should end. They want the Group Insurance Fund sanctioned in January 1982, to be distributed among them.

Plays to be staged at Chowdiah Hall

In connection with the silver jubilee celebrations of Chowdiah Memorial Hall, the Academy of Music in association with Antharanga and Sanchaya are conducting two Kannada plays on the Thursday and Friday at the Chowdiah Memorial Hall. "Huthadalli Hutha", by T.P. Kailasam will be staged on the first day and "Sangya Balya" by Chandrashekar Kambar will be staged the next day.

Pranic healing

Sri Vaibhava Pranic Healing Centre will organise a three-day pranic healing camp for various ailments from Thursday.
