Cloud-seeding is useless exercise: TDP

: The Telugu Desam MP, Ravula Chandrasekhar Reddy, has lashed out at the Government for continuing with cloud-seeding for the second year in succession calling it a technology that had no scientific proof of success.
At a press conference here on Wednesday, he asked the Government to furnish scientific proof of the success of cloud-seeding operations last year and give data of last year's rainfall that could be directly related to cloud-seeding. He said even in the United States of America the technology had been given up and wondered why the Congress Government the State was hanging on to it.
Mr. Reddy recalled the reply to a starred question in the Rajya Sabha by none other than Kapil Sibal, Union Minister for Science and Technology and Ocean Development, in which he had admitted there was no comparative data of rainfall in cloud-seeded and non-seeded areas.
