Mr. A. Raghava Reddy, Inspector-General of Local Administration and Director of Town Planning, Andhra, accompanied by Mr. C. Annarao, Executive Officer, T.T. Devasthanams, and Mr. R. Venkataraman, Civil Engineer. inspected various sites away from the precincts of the temple for the purpose of forming colonies in order to avoid congestion in the Tirumalai village area proper. The suggestion is to remove the huts in certain areas at Tirumalai and build in their place neat quarters and to settle the displaced hut-dwellers in the proposed colony. Mr. Raghava Reddy said that proposals for the establishment of a township would soon be sent to the Government for the development of Tirumalai and added that steps would be taken to notify Tirumalai area under the Town Planning Act.
