KOLKATA: West Bengal Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee, who had ordered a probe into the circumstances leading to the police action on students inside the Jadavpur University campus, said here on Thursday that the report is expected within a day or two. ``A solution is emerging and the teachers' committee [set up by the university authorities to inquire into the events leading to the stalemate] has started working for the restoration of normality in the university,'' he added. Students protesting against the police action continued their demonstrations inside the university campus for the sixth day. The five-member committee has been holding talks with student representatives. They later took out a procession from the campus condemning the police attack. Students from the Jawaharlal Nehru University, North Bengal University and certain colleges across the city also took part in the procession. University sources said that the committee was satisfied with the progress of talks with representatives of the Faculty of Engineering and Technology Students' Union. These talks would be followed by a meeting with Vice-Chancellor A.N. Basu and officials and teachers of the university where the students' viewpoint would be conveyed. A spokesman of FETSU said that the demonstrations will continue until their demands are met.
