Australian cyclist suspended

ADELAIDE: Former World champion Jobie Dajka was suspended from the sport for three years on Thursday by Cycling Australia's disciplinary tribunal for assaulting the team's head track coach.

The penalty was handed down after Dajka admitted assaulting Martin Barras two weeks ago. Cycling Australia said Dajka could reapply for his licence to compete after serving one year of the suspension if he took anger management courses and performed community service work. — AP
