HYDERABAD: The Chief Minister, Y. S. Rajasekhara Reddy, is embarking on a three- nation tour of UAE, Egypt and Israel to give a boost to industrial investments in the State and to study better agricultural practices from July 5 to 11. He has directed officials to prepare a blueprint to attract new industrial investments to the tune of Rs.15,000 crores by 2010 by amending the Industrial Investment Promotion Policy suitably. The Chief Minister also asked them to create attractive packages to woo investors on Thursday. He told The Hindu that he not only hoped to see the State become an industrial giant during next four years but was confident that the emphasis on projects on the one hand and the industries on the other would result in turning it into `Bhavyaandhrapradesh'. He said he had ordered officials to study in detail the Chinese agricultural practices that could benefit the State. These are proposed to be integrated with the Israeli practices now. "The aim is to go for the best practices in these countries. Productivity levels have to be given a boost. Our water utilisation is also on a higher side in agriculture compared to these countries. Globally acknowledged water management practices should be adopted for maximum output," he added. Dr. Reddy will have meetings with the Ministers of IT and Agriculture, Government of Israel. In Dubai, he will be meeting the dignitaries in the Government of UAE. A meeting with the President of Abu Dhabi, one of the seven emirates of the Gulf, Rasal Khema, and Messrs Emar, a Government infrastructure company in Dubai, is also on the cards. The latter is developing a golf course in Hitec City in Hyderabad.
To meet Telugu NRIs
The Chief Minister will also interact with the local Telugu community and the Telugu Associations in these places. A high-level delegation comprising the Ministers of Agriculture and Industries, his advisors and top officials will accompany him.
