Ericsson introduces GSM mobile on aircraft

NEW DELHI: Ericsson, the Swedish telecom network supplier, has introduced its newly developed GSM system on aircraft, allowing passengers to use their mobiles onboard commercial flights. "We are working with airlines, aircraft manufacturers and GSM-based services providers to make the service available,'' Carl Henric, President and Chief Executive Officer of Ericsson, told PTI. The service would be made available in all countries simultaneously, he added.
