GUNTUR T: GUNTUR T: he Guntur District Telugu Desam Party (TDP) has criticised the role of K.V.P. Ramachandra Rao, State Advisor, and alleged that he was functioning as a `shadow chief minister' in the Congress Government. At a press conference on Thursday, TDP leader, Ghouse Mohiuddin, found fault with the Government for listening to the suggestions and plans of an `extraconstitutional authority' like Mr. Ramachandra Rao
`Mockery of statute'
. "He is not an elected public representative. With what authority can he sit next to the Chief Minister and also heli-hop along with him to various places," he questioned. "He is making a mockery of the Constitution by getting involved in the transfers if IAS/ IPS officers and also in the appointment of the Vice-Chancellors of various universities and committees," pointed out the TDP leader. sThe TDP official spokesperson, Kolla Veeraiah Chowdary, asked the Government to come clean on the issue with all the details. The remarks by Kodela Shiva Prasada Rao against Mr. Ramachandra Rao were fully justified and the TDP was ready to come out with proof of his alleged `misdeeds' anytime, he said. Later, the Telugu Yuvatha activists took out a rally on the Ring Road and burnt an effigy of the Chief Minister amidst slogan-shouting at Sankar Vilas Junction.
