CHITRADURGA: A python was killed to draw the attention of the civic body to the lack of amenities in Hiriyur on Tuesday. The eight-foot python, which sneaked into DC Colony on Tuesday night, was killed by the shocked residents. The carcass of the python was carried in a procession to the municipal office and then to the taluk office. Last month, a woman died after being stung by a scorpion.
