MAHABUBNAGAR: The Telugu Desam MP, Ravula Chandra Shekar Reddy, came down heavily on district administration for its failure to utilise the funds allocated by the Centre in time. Speaking to reporters here on Thursday, he said central funds released to several departments in the district were either remained unutilised or returned back for not utilising them in the time stipulated. He said Rs.9.42 crores was released for 17 works under the Prime Minister Grameen Sadak Yojna (PMGSY) in February 2004. But, nine works remained ungrounded. "Even though the legal hurdles were cleared six months ago, the works had not been initiated due to which over Rs.5 crores remained unused, he said. He said funds that were released by the Centre for assisting shepherds were also remained unutilised. .
