BSNL launches broadband service

MANGALORE: Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd. (BSNL) has launched DataOne, the broadband service offering speeds above 250 KBPS, in the Dakshina Kannada Telecom District.

A press release issued here on Thursday from the office of the Principal General Manager of the Dakshina Kannada Circle Telecom said the broadband service is available in two categories — "Home plan and Business plan." The service can be availed of even for a monthly charge of Rs. 500 under the "Home Plan 500," the release said.

A modem to access the Internet can be purchased with a one-time payment or on monthly rental basis. If the customer desires to purchase the modem from BSNL, there will be no security deposit under Home Plan 500.

The provision of one-time annual payment is also available with an attractive discount. More information can be had from the Assistant General Manager (ph: 2426000 or 2420000).
