Woman found murdered
According to the police, the incident took place when Sushila, her husband and their three children, were sleeping on the roof of their house. Her husband claimed that in the middle of the night he woke up and saw that his wife's throat had been slit and she was bleeding profusely. He then saw a man fleeing from there. Sushila was rushed to a hospital where doctors declared her dead on arrival. The Model Town police have registered a murder case and are investigating.
Two suicide cases
A 17-year-old woman, Lovely, allegedly hanged herself to death at Okhla Vihar in South Delhi this morning. She was married to one Sattar for the past 18 months. In another case, a 22-year-old woman, Kanchan, allegedly committed suicide at Bawana after she came to know about her husband Prem's illicit relationship with his bother's wife. The area Sub-Divisional Magistrate has initiated a probe into the matter, as Kanchan had married Prem about five months ago.
Fake cosmetics
unit unearthed
According to the police, they received a complaint from the famous beautician Shahnaz Hussain's company alleging that some people were supplying its fake products in the market. Investigations revealed that Ombir Singh, a resident of Ghaziabad, had been supplying fake products. Acting on a tip-off that he would come to a Krishna Nagar market, the Special Cell laid a trap and arrested him. In all, 33 sacks containing fake products were recovered from him. Samples of the seized items have been sent for lab-test. During interrogation, Ombir allegedly disclosed that he used to buy the goods from S.P. Sharma. At his instance, the police arrested S.P Sharma at Mithapur in Badarpur and also raided the unit that he had been running.
Post-mortem today
The police said it appeared to be a case of suicide as 32-year-old Mamta Bihari, an intern with the Gynaecology Department, had a fractured left hand. "It seems she jumped off the nurse's hostel to her death. There are barely any external injuries on her body, but we suspect that she sustained internal injuries in the fall," said a police officer, adding that the post-mortem would reveal the nature of such injuries. Enquiries have revealed that before she left Ward No. 7 of the OPD on Wednesday, Mamta looked tense. The hospital staff said she was searching for calmpose and diazepam. Mamta left the ward around 11-30 a.m. after which she went missing. The police said her parents would arrive in the Capital on Friday.
