Swamy's call to Hindus

Staff Reporter

VELLORE: Janata Party president Subramanian Swamy has called upon Hindus to unite to defeat the "attempts by a powerful external force" to foment trouble and split India.

Foreign forces were engaged in these attempts in order to prevent India from becoming a developed country, he said.

Speaking at the Second Hindu Renaissance and Protection Conference and public meeting organised by the Vishwa Hindu Parishad at Walajapet on Saturday, Dr. Swamy said that terrorists had infiltrated all States.

S. Vedantham, VHP international vice-president, said that Hindus had forgotten their spiritual roots and were trapped in the myth of casteism.
