Shekhawat undergoes treatment

Special Correspondent0

NEW DELHI: : Vice-President Bhairon Singh Shekhawat on Sunday underwent an interventional procedure at the All-India Institute of Medical Science, clearing the obstruction in blood supply to one of his legs, which was causing pain.

According to an official statement, doctors attending on him described his condition as normal.

They indicated that Mr. Shekhawat was likely to be discharged on Monday.

About two years back, Mr. Shekhawat had momentarily felt cramps in his leg while he was reading out the President's address in the joint session in the Central Hall.

As the problem was getting aggravated, his friends and well wishers were advising him to go to the United States for treatment. But he chose to be treated at the AIIMs, which, according to him, provides the best and cheapest treatment to all, especially the poor.
