BANGALORE: Mohsin Khan's spate of three pointers, seven in all, helped SAI Dharwad beat JSC 58-42 and retain the State Youth under-16 boys' basketball title. Earlier in the girls final, Beagles staved off a late resurgence by Viveks Sports Club for a 36-33 verdict with International Nisha leading the way. Sports School Vidyanagar and Indiranagar Basketball Club (IBBC) clinched the third place in the girls and boys section respectively.
The results: Boys (Final): SAI Dharwad 58 (Mohsin Khan 25, Pranav 14, Prashanth 13) bt JSC 42 (Minal 13, Nikhil 10) (Ht: 35-27). Third place: IBBC 40 (Nithyan 16) bt YMMA 27 (Ht: 17-12). Semifinal league: JSC 45 (Pradeesh 14) bt IBBC 44 (Nithyan 14, Ram Reddy 11, Mithun 10) (Ht: 20-21; SAI (Dharwad) 69 (Mohsin Khan 27, Prashanth 20, Pranav 10) bt YMMA 35 (Apoorva 14) (Ht: 34-23). Girls (Final): Beagles 36 (Nisha 17, Sophia 16) bt Viveks 33 (Reeth 22, Naina 11) (Ht: 21-21). Third place: SS Vidyanagar 44 (Sneha 13, Krithika 10) bt Rangers (Mysore) 25 (Bindiya 14) (Ht: 22-14).
