BANGALORE: The body of a 40-year-old woman was found hanging from an eucalyptus tree in the mini forest at J.P. Nagar 3rd Phase on Sunday morning. People who came to the mini forest for their morning walk found the body hanging from the tree next to a newly laid jogging track. The police, who reached the spot at around 7.30 a.m., shifted the body to Kempegowda Hospital. The body has been kept at the hospital's mortuary.
Killed in accident
Sony (25) of Sriramapuram, who was riding pillion on a motorcycle, was killed when a lorry hit the vehicle near J.C. Road junction in Ulsoor Gate police station limits on Saturday night. Sony's friend, Rajesh, who was riding the motorcycle, has been admitted to a hospital.
Relieved of cash
Vikas, a native of Uttar Pradesh and a student of engineering, was robbed of Rs. 2,000 in cash and a mobile phone on Main Guard Road. The Commercial Street police said Vikas, a resident of Marathalli, was returning home on his motorcycle after attending a function in Rajajinagar. He stopped his vehicle on Main Guard Road to answer his mobile phone. While he was speaking, two persons came to him and took away cash and the mobile phone. Afsar Ali, a cobbler, was robbed of Rs. 2,000 in cash and a mobile phone in R.T. Nagar police station limits. The police said that around 8 p.m., Ali was waiting at the Dinnur bus stand. A few persons, who came in a car, approached him on the pretext of enquiring about an address. They then asked Ali to get into the car and guide them to the address. Ali got into the vehicle. After travelling some distance, he was robbed of his cash and mobile phone.
Murder accused held
The R.T. Nagar police have arrest Lenin (26), who is accused of stabbing to death Raghu on the night of June 17.
Held on assault charge
The Commercial Street police have arrested a person on the charge of assaulting a landlord. The police said the accused, Javed Agha (33) of HBR Layout, assaulted Amjad in January following instructions from Nayarana Reddy.
