DHARWAD: Three cases of burglary have been reported in Dharwad in which jewellery and other items estimated to be Rs. 18,000 have been stolen. All the three thefts took place on Saturday night at Shakti Colony in Srinagar here. While the burglars did not find anything worth stealing in two houses that were rented to some students, they stole jewellery estimated at Rs. 18,000 from the house of Sudhakar Maurti Malagi. Dharwad Suburban police have registered a case. In another incident reported in Hubli on Saturday night, burglars have made way with jewellery and electronic goods estimated to be Rs. 22,000. According to police, thieves gained entry into the house of Prof. Dadibhavi at Navanagar here, after breaking the metal bars of the window. The police said Prof. Dadibhavi was out of station when the incident occurred.
