Letters to the Editor
The amicable settlement of the dispute between the Ambani brothers is a welcome development. However, it leaves many questions unanswered. Why has Finance Minister P. Chidambaram ruled out a probe into serious questions raised by Anil Ambani himself? Secondly, why is there still no information to investors on the large number of "satellite" companies holding cross ownership?
Dushyant K. Mahant,
* * * Mr. Chidambaram has taken the right decision and the NDA constituents will also agree with him. For, one never knows when Sonia Gandhi or Jaswant Singh would need the Reliance aircraft again.
P.G. Menon,
* * * The prolonged, bitter tussle between the Ambani brothers has come to an end and made ordinary shareholders breathe easy. The Ambanis seem to have forgotten that unity is strength. It is hoped the settlement marks a good beginning for the brothers.
S. Lakshmi Narayanan,
* * * The settlement proves that it is power, money, and ego which matter more to the brothers than respect for the sacrifice made by their father to build the Reliance empire.
S. Parthasarathy,
