KRISHNAGIRI: Truck owners in Krishnagiri have threatened to go on an indefinite strike protesting against the proposed implementation of toll charges on the newly built four-lane National Highway between Hosur and Krishnagiri from the date of opening of the toll plaza. The president of the Krishnagiri taluk lorry owners association, Sowriappan, said: ``with the Central Government already collecting Rs. 2 as cess charges for every litre of diesel, all National and State permit lorries passing through Krishnagiri would not pay toll charges till our demands are met with.'' The strike would begin from the day of opening of the toll plaza. All lorries would be parked near the toll plaza itself as a mark of protest. A memorandum has already been submitted to the Prime Minister, Manmohan Singh, in this regard he said.
