TUTICORIN: : The District Revenue Officer, R Selvaraj, distributed welfare assistance to six beneficiaries under different schemes at a grievance day meeting conducted at the Collectorate here on Monday. Mr. Selvaraj gave away Rs.10,000 from the Collector's discretionary funds earmarked under TAHDCO scheme, to one Durairaj, a resident of Melapoorani, for goat rearing. The DRO then distributed sewing machines to five persons, Mohan, Maheswari, Isakkiammal, Valliammal and Mariammal, to help them start their own ventures. Revenue sources said sewing machines were purchased with the funds allocated from social welfare department. Staff Reporter.
