Bangalore: Football player Dayanand, skipper of the Hindustan Aeronautics Limited Sports Club (HALSC), committed suicide here on Monday afternoon. He was 25. Dayanand is survived by his parents, wife, his two-year-old baby boy and a brother. A grief-stricken coach Krishnaji Rao said, "Dayanand was a good player and more than that he was such a good person. He was a very promising player. It is unfortunate and this should not have happened." The last rites will most probably be held in Dayanand's hometown, Shimoga, on Tuesday. Dayanand had provided many a moment to cherish for the local football fans with his goal-scoring skills. Sports Reporter
