MYSORE: An Investors' Meet is likely to be held in Mysore on October 20 and 21 during Dasara celebrations. Speaking to presspersons here on Monday, the Minister for Industries, P.G.R. Sindhia, said the meet will discuss investment opportunities in Mysore, Mandya, Hassan, and Chamarajanagar districts. "Several multinational companies will also take part in the meet," Mr. Sindhia said. He said that preparations are being made for organising the meet in the city. Invitations will be sent to companies showning interest in setting up industries in the district, he said. A host of information technology and Biotechnology companies have shown interest in setting up shop in Mysore. The State Government has sanctioned a Rs. 100-crore project by Larson and Toubro in Mysore. Wipro, a leading software company, has shown interest in setting up a unit in Mysore and has asked for around 100 acres of land, Mr. Sindhia added. Mr. Sindhia said the State Government will acquire 1,000 acres on the Mysore-Srirangapatna road and develop an industrial layout to accommodate these companies.
