Answer paper scam: summons to parents

Staff Reporter

CHENNAI: The Central Crime Branch police, investigating the Anna University answer paper tampering scam, has sent summons to parents of eight students wanted in the case. They were asked to appear before the investigating officers on Wednesday.

Only last week did the investigating authorities interrogate five drivers and an owner of a cab company, which supplied four vehicles hired for distributing the answer sheets to various self-financing engineering colleges. So far, the police arrested 14 students and three daily-wage workers of the university for their alleged involvement in the scam.
