TIRUCHI: : A total of 336 petitions were received during the public grievance redressal day meeting held at the Collectorate here on Monday. The petitions pertained to the disbursal of old age pension, removal of encroachments, bank loan assistance, the provision of streetlights etc. The Collector, K. Nanda Kishore, presided over the meeting and examined the petitions. He instructed the officials concerned to take appropriate action. During the meeting, the Collector presented a cheque for Rs.6,500 to athlete Alex Anthonyraj as an incentive to the sportsperson for the year 2004-`05. Cheques for Rs.5,000 each were handed to basketball player K. Ramprasad and Taekwondo exponent K. Devika by the Collector, an official release issued here on Monday said.
