NEW DELHI: Seeking a permanent injunction on the telecast of the tele-serial "Time Bomb" on Zee Television, Twentieth Century Fox Film Corporation of America accused Zee Telefilms Limited, producer of the serial, of plagiarising the characterisation, storyline and the script of its tele-serial "24" to produce "Time Bomb." However, the court did not say anything on the relief sought. Appearing for plaintiff, Amarjit Singh Chandhiok submitted on Monday that the defendant's serial "Time Bomb" had also copied out the format and the style of presentation of his client's serial "24." However, Fox Film Corporation failed to tell the court the exact portions of episodes of its serial, which it intended to accuse the defendant of stealing, taking the plea that it had not watched their serial. Mr. Chandhiok submitted that his client had only viewed the "power point presentation" of the serial "Time Bomb" which did not have any visual. Unless they watched the serial, they would not be able to tell the court exactly about the portions which had been plagiarised, he stated. Justice Anil Kumar also viewed the compact disc (CD) of the Fox Film Corporation's serial screened on the wall of the courtroom for a few minutes. However, he did not make any comment on it. Later, counsel for Zee Telefilms Limited Arun Jaitley refuted all allegations levelled by Fox Film Corporation submitting that his client had made such serials in the past as well. The argument remained inconclusive as the court rose for the day. It will be taken up again on June 22.
