Power supply position improves in A.P.
Special Correspondent
HYDERABAD:
Power supply position in Andhra Pradesh registered slight improvement on Tuesday following increase in generation with an installed capacity of 830 MW becoming available at different places.
This was also due to a fall in demand in domestic and agriculture sectors as a result of light rain in the State. The demand-supply gap came down to 4.8 million units per day from 12 mu on Friday last. The energy supplied on Monday was 139 mu while the demand stood at 143 mu. According to information received at Vidyuth Soudha from generation stations all over the State, the 210-MW second unit of the Rayalaseema Thermal Power Station at Muddanur as also the 500-MW capacity sixth unit of the NTPC Talcher complex out of which the State's share is 120 MW, resumed generation on Monday.
