THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Shibu Baby John, the dissident RSP (B) legislator whose relations with the ruling UDF too has gone sour of late, has decided to dump the ruling alliance and sit in the Opposition when the Assembly meets next on July 4. Mr. Baby John met Speaker Therambil Ramakrishnan on Tuesday with the request that he be allotted a seat in the Opposition benches when the House meets for a month-long session and later told reporters that he had done so as decided by his party. He also declared that he is still part of RSP (B) led by A. V. Thamarakshan. He had refused to join Prof. Thamarakshan when he chose to take the RSP (B) out of the UDF some weeks ago and chosen to remain in the UDF. "What they realised then has dawned on me only now," Mr. Baby John said when asked about his belated switch-over to the Opposition.
