LONDON: International XI scored a six-wicket win over Asian XI in a Twenty20 charity match at The Oval on Monday, a fund-raiser for tsunami victims.

Scott Styris scored an 18-ball 39 and Greg Blewett was unbeaten on 91 (61b) as the International XI finished the match at 161 for four in 18.1 overs.

India's Rahul Dravid had earlier scored 62 (47b) to steer Asian XI to 157. Sri Lanka's Sanath Jayasuriya (27), Mahela Jayawardene (24), Kumar Sangakkara (15) and Chaminda Vaas (14) were the only other batsmen to reach double figures as the Asian XI was dismissed five balls short of its maximum 20 overs.

Former England all-rounder Adam Hollioake, who came out of retirement to play, was the pick of the bowlers with figures of three for 16 off 2.1 overs.

Allrounders Dominic Thornely (Australia) and Styris (New Zealand) claimed two wickets apiece.

Dravid led Asian XI, while Brian Lara led the International XI.

The scores: Asian XI 157 in 19.1 overs (Rahul Dravid 62, Adam Hollioake three for 16) lost to International XI 161 for four in 18.1 overs (Greg Blewett 91, Scott Styris 39). — AP
