Opportunity lost for Maoists, says DGP

Staff Reporter

SANGAREDDY: The Director General of Police, Swaranjit Sen, has said that Maoists have wasted an opportunity of bringing everlasting peace by turning away from peace talks.

He said this after inaugurating police quarters at Kukunoorpalli under the Siddipet sub-division on Tuesday. He felt that the Maoists should have continued the dialogue with the State Government.

The DGP pointed out that backwardness breed extremism as majority of the Maoist cadre came from the rural areas. The present Government in the State had taken certain steps that would redress backwardness in villages.

Quarters inaugurated

Earlier, Mr. Swaranjit Sen inaugurated staff quarters at Siddipet and Bhumpalli police station premises. The Minister for Youth Affairs, T. Harish Rao, also laid the foundation for the Siddipet DSP's office.
