Show us proof, says Mysoora Reddy

`No proof that the exercise has worked'

HYDERABAD.: The former Minister and Telugu Desam Party leader, M.V. Mysoora Reddy, has reiterated the party's demand to the Government of providing proof of the State having received rain because of its cloud-seeding operations.

At a press conference here on Tuesday, he said despite repeated demands, the Government had not come up with concrete and scientifically proven evidence that cloud-seeding operations resulted in rain. Officials simply did not have the exact figures, he said adding that they were only trying to cover up for their political bosses.

Defamation case

On the reaction of the Agriculture Minister, N. Raghuveera Reddy, who had recently threatened to file a defamation suit against the TDP for its criticism against him, Mr. Mysoora Reddy said anyone was free to approach court. "But as a Minister, we would have expected him to counter with proof of his innocence and not with a threat of defamation," he said.

File before Speaker

Why does the Government not put the entire file pertaining to cloud-seeding operations before the Speaker of the Legislative Assembly, K.R. Suresh Reddy, or call all political parties for a meeting together and produce the files? He said: "We are interested in knowing who is in charge of the cloud-seeding operations - Mr. Raghuveera Reddy or Mr. Mareppa, the Minister for Rain-Shadow Areas and Lift Irrigation."
