Centre to convene meet on Babli row

HYDERABAD:
The Union Minister for Water Resources, Priya Ranjan Das Munshi, has called for a joint meeting of representatives of Governments of Andhra Pradesh and Maharashtra in New Delhi to sort differences between the two States over construction of Babli project across the Godavari.
This development followed a representation made by a delegation of MPs belonging to the State to Mr. Das Munshi earlier this week. The Major Irrigation Minister, P. Lakshmaiah, led the team.
The State Government received message to this effect from New Delhi asking it to indicate the convenient date before July 15 for such a meeting.
