RAJAHMUNDRY: The Telugu Desam Party (TDP) on Tuesday demanded implementation of B.C. Commission's recommendations in full to accord BC-E status for five minority sub-castes for whom the commission had recommended the same. Addressing a press conference in Rajahmundry Press Club, the TDP minority cell leader, Sk. Suban, said that though the TDP welcomed the 5 per cent reservations for minorities, it had its own reservation on the classification of BC-E group. He said that except Mehetar (which belongs to B.C-A category), the remaining four sub-castes like Noor Basha, Doodekula, Pinjari and Laddaff were included in BC-B category. According to him, there were 80 lakh Muslims in the State out of which 30 lakhs were being treated as BCs. Mr. Suban said that the Congress Government had failed to keep its promise to minorities given during the last Assembly elections. He said that the budget allocation for Muslims had come down to Rs.38 crores from Rs.63 crores during TDP regime. He said that the Government had failed to establish Muslim Women's Finance Corporation and also separate Polytechnics, ITI for minorities.
