Sonal Mansingh's charge

Special Correspondent

NEW DELHI: Two weeks after she was replaced as Sangeet Natak Akademi Chairperson, Odissi danseuse Sonal Mansingh on Tuesday broke her silence and said she would any day prefer to see someone like Ram Niwas Mirdha occupy the office rather than a "comrade."

Addressing a press conference here, she said: "The comrades plotted my removal."

She denied that she had campaigned for the Bharatiya Janata Party in the last Lok Sabha elections as was being made out.
