Big win for Oxford CC

MADURAI: Half centuries by Chandran (53), Rajkumar (52) and Rafique (50) helped Oxford Cricket Club carve out a resounding 139-run victory over Majestic Kids Cricket Club in the Indian Bank-Madurai District Cricket Association first division `B' zone league here on Sunday.

The scores: (first division `B' zone): Oxford CC 229 in 44 overs (Chandran 53, Rajkumar 52, Rafique 50, Farook three for 40) bt Majestic Kids CC 90 in 29 overs.

Victory CC 206 in 48.3 overs (Madhana Gopal 59, Rajesh four for 42) lost to Amigos CC 207 for nine in 42 overs (Rajesh 51, Thirumurugan 50 not out).

`A' zone: Freak CC 185 in 45 overs (Robert 40) bt Pykara CC 160 in 35.3 overs (Santhosh Gopi four for 37).

Spark CC 174 in 38.2 overs (Velmurugan 71) lost to Customs CC 175 for eight in 38.3 overs (Jeyaruban 46). Second division: Fanatic CC 150 in 29.1 overs (Senthil 40) lost to Eleven Stars CC 151 for seven in 27.3 overs (Venkatesh 43, Ayyappan 44, Senthil four for 16).

Canara Bank CC 104 in 25.3 overs lost to Eleven Stars CC 105 for five in 21.1 overs (Venkatesh 58 not out). Third division: Jai Hind CC 91 in 20.3 overs lost to Thirunagar CC 92 for nine in 22.3 overs (Bala four for 22). — Sports Correspondent
