Shiv Kapur eyeing title at Brunei

Bandar Seri Begawan: India's rookie golfer Shiv Kapur is eyeing nothing less than the title as he ventures into the $ 300,000 inaugural Brunei Open golf tournament beginning at the Empire Hotel and Country Club here on Thursday.

Kapur, lying 64th on the money list, this year has two top-20 finishes including a tied 12th at the SK Telecom. His other top-20 finish was at the Standard Chartered Indonesia Open.

Another Indian challenger Amandeep Johl, a member of the victorious Asian team at the Visa Dynasty Cup in April, will also be in the fray.

Most of the young stars and air smattering of veterans hope Brunei will give them a boost in their rankings and standings, before the Asian Tour takes its usual summer break and re-starts the schedule in September. — PTI
