Rupee rallies

MUMBAI: Overcoming severe early pressures, the rupee rallied against the U.S. currency on Tuesday. In moderately active trading at the interbank foreign exchange market, the rupee ended at 43.5650/5750 a dollar, a one paisa gain from Monday's close of 43.5750/5850 and a sharp recovery from early low of 43.62/63. It opened distinctly weak at 43.61/62 a dollar.

From an early low of 43.62/63, the rupee made a sharp turnaround to 43.5650/5750 at the close, they added. Oil prices eased back below $59 a barrel in Asian trade.— PTI
