VHP conclave from June 27

AYODHYA: The VHP is holding a three-day conclave of its managing committee from June 27 at Amritsar in Punjab to give final shape to mass awareness programmes related to the Ram temple movement.

The VHP joint secretary, Onkar Bhave, said the VHP would soon organise countrywide mass awareness programmes to propagate the temple cause.

``The Parishad also proposes holding special 'Dharma Sansads' at Guwahati, Jagannathpuri, Tirupati, Kurukshetra, Prayag and Surat next year on the Ayodhya issue,'' he added.

The `Sansads' would be conducted by reverred saints and seers to garner support for the temple cause.

Mr Bhave further warned the Hindu community would never accept any other construction at the acquired land in Ayodhya other than a Ram temple.

However, he observed: ``Since, the United Progressive Alliance (UPA) at the centre is running with the Left support, it would never hand over the 67-acre acquired land to Sri Ramjanmabhumi Nyas for temple construction.''- UNI
