Transport for night shoppers sought

NEW DELHI:
The PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PHDCCI) in a representation to the Delhi Government has requested that the recent changes in opening hours for shops and restaurants be matched by similarly progressive legislation on public transport.
Noting that extended opening hours -- though welcomed by the city's business community -- only benefited those with private transport, the PHDCCI stated that the only way for Delhi to regain its pre-eminent position as a prime destination for shoppers was for the Delhi Government to draw up a new transport policy.
